Llano River

It has been so intensely hot for the last few weeks that there is little that I can do outdoors. So we take rides through the countryside and enjoy hill country views. One of the features that I love about central Texas are the rock bottom rivers. The water flows clear and bright across cream colored stone and is always so inviting on hot days. The drought continues here and rivers are dropping revealing the stone bottoms scoured of vegetation and bottom soil. If I were younger, it would have been so refreshing to find a little sinkhole with water flowing through and just soak for a few hours.
I have been told this is a popular swimming hole on weekends.
